Hey everyone, hope everyone is doing great. Wanted to asked a question and get current and post military experience perspectives. I tore my ACL in 2008 during my senior year of football. I am a guy that is always active and very competitive. I played football and ran track. I tore my ACL and had reconstructive surgery ASAP and was back in 5 month's for track season. Finished track season as another state champion back to back and had no problems. Now that I have not competed for several years I keep up on my health. I currently graduated with my A.A. in Criminal Justice but want more. I have always thought about joining the Army and continue school by joining ROTC. I keep shying away because of the injury but can still run a 9 minute mile in a half, can squat twice my body weight, full range of motion, and no pains. What should I do, I get multiple advice from friends by telling me not to say anything, or to bring documentation of my injury along with Dr's waiver. Was told though that this injury can not be waiver and was told that if I can do all the test they give me I shouldn't have a problem. I am worried about just getting turned down when joining the military is my passion and has always been my passion. Plus for Criminal Justice perspective it will look great on my resume and only having a 2-year-degree will get me no where in the Criminal Justice field with so many vet's getting out and at least here in Iowa that's the first thing they go for is Criminal Justice. I would appreciate any help and advice I can get.

Have you talked with a recruiter yet? Start there.
