I find that it is kinda hard to talk to any other army wives about whats going on with your life and dealing with your husbad in the army so I thought I would start some kind of topic about you and your life with you husband gone in the army. My Husband is in Korea at Camp Humphreys so if anyone wants to talk feel free to look me up.

Hi Army wife here too! I find that MOST other army wives are very supportive but there are a few out there that are very hostile.

My husband is in infantry basic right now then goes onto airborne jump school. I know he will be deployed but we are not sure when. I am so terrified that he wont be there for the birth of our son and seeing how we will be stationed in Alaska there will be no one to take care of my daughter while I am in the hospital. That is the main thing and worry in my life right now. We are to be stationed in Nov and I am due in Jan. I just really want someone to tell me everything will be fine to set my mind at ease.

HI, Helen Doyle from Adopt a Troop Program here.

don't forget that you also have a Family Readiness Group to count on. You can join one. . and be in on everything that's going on with your husband.....The more involved you are with them the better....They are the best support you can get. Most of the wives join the group so that they can commiserate with each other when their family is in combat. Each unit has one so their family members are all together.
Good Luck and God Bless.

Hi Everyone,

If your husband is in the Middle East fighting terrorism listen up. !!

I have a program that Adopts troops. What I mean by that is we send the soldiers holiday cards, packages and I also have Operation Happy Birthday.
If you would like me to send your husband a card and put them on the list for receiving mail you can e-mail me and I will see to it that it happens.
Have a great Labor Day Weekend.....

Love Helen:up:

Pass it on to any other people you know......:D

Hi, I'm an Army wife and my husband was stationed there a few years ago. I laughed when I first heard the name of where he was. We're stationed at Ft. Campbell now, but he's deployed.....again.

If you would like your husband and his unit to get mail and care packages just
e-mail me with his name and address and birth date and I will be happy to add them to my list. I am the founder of Adopt a Troop and I have 53 volunteers across the country that devote their time to support the troops.

Adoptatroop60@aol.com

This is not a pen pal club nor do I give their informaiton to anyone outside my program.
I have been doing this for the past 3 years . I respect the troops and their families as I do my own.
My brother was stationed in Iraq in Operation Desert Shield/Storm.

God Bless,

Helen Doyle

[Just checking in to see how everyone is doing? Just hangin' out, kinda bored. Today is my birthday and my husband is deployed. My son and I went to dinner so that was fun. Otherwise it was just another day at work.

Army wife here to!

We're stationed at Ft. Hood, Texas.

We're originally from Ohio.

And stationed anywhere besides Ohio is good enough for us!! LOL!

 Wife to one of those darn stubborn Airborne Soldiers, hehe. Been together 3 yrs, married for a yr and a half but DH has been in for 21+ yrs(tst)...I must say I'm still getting used to being a military spouse, but have found some great friends and a wonderful support system.

A friend of mine's husband had the same thing happen to him also. Their family had to stay where they were, which was IN, and he went to Gordon for a little over a year.

Great to see some more people have joined. I am a Proud Army Wife, enduring my 3rd deployment to Iraq with my husband. He has been there this time nearly two years. It gets tough but then i know it is worth it. I am always around if anyone wants to chat or needs some reassurance.

Nearly 2 yrs. is a very long time! We've been through Iraq, Afghanistan 2x's and Korea. The longest though was a yr. at a time. You have my blessings
