Hey Everyone, I'm unfortunately an Army wife too. My husband is in Rustamiyah, Iraq. I can't say I like this kind of life of not knowing where your next home will be it gets old. Also, I don't think being in Iraq will actually do anything for that country because it's pretty much a dump. I think the Army sends soldiers away for too long of a period and it causes people to lose a sense of closeness especially in a marriage. Children suffer and it causes the military members to become depressed and to have problems relating to their families when they return. I don't like it and I hope my husband will get out of the Army whenever possible.

Hey All !! I'm not an Army Wife just yet, but he considers me his wife, and call him my husband!! I'm just waiting on the ring and the ceremony to make it final!! Anyway, I've been with my soldier since I was 16, (will be 5 years in June), and I've already been through a deployment with him. We only dated for 5 months before he left, but he was too good to give up, and I stuck with him. Here we are, almost 5 years later, and he was just redeployed. We've really only been together (him being home on leave and all ..) for about 8 months total, but every time he's home it's a miracle all over again. I've been through living 4000 miles away from him (I reside in Philly, and he is stationed in Alaska - The complete opposite sides of the country), I've been through the heartache of his deployment being extended 2 weeks before he was supposed to come back to the states, and now I'm going through his second tour. It's hard, but I'm keeping busy. I've been through a lot, and if ANYONE needs any comfort, please don't be afraid to ask. That's why I'm here !!

My fiancee' is stationed at Camp Humphrey's, Korea and wants to get married on his mid-tour leave so I can go back over there with him. If we were to do that he would have to extend his stay for another year (he was to be over there for 1 year) in order for me to go. I would like feedback on spouses who have been over there as I have never been out of the country let alone live in another country. He is an officer and already has an apartment off post. Also, I have a dog and was curious if anyone knows the rules for pets and if they have vets over there since I hear they eat dogs. I want to take my dog but if the healthcare isn't available for her I may leave her with family.
