Well First off Congrats...Its a big step in life. Make sure you arent doing anything that could effect your career in the long run while in the DEP. I made the mistake of holding on to my civilan roots for to long and it screwed me now that im in the fleet...So just be smart. Also RUNNING! make sure you can run long distances! practice your breathing and streching out your stride. Marines have it easier when it comes to PT when they are naturally good runners. Also, there is no getting around it. Boot Camp sucks...but you knew this. Just stay motivated, keep your chin up and sound of like you mean it and you wanna be there. It pays off when you dont have a DI in your shit. After BootCamp Expect some Recrutiers assistants. Now there your're a Marine your recruiter isnt a buddy anymore. He is now a Sergeant or SSgt Of marines. Shortly after than Expect the always lovely Combat training ( shooting of automatic weapons and humping everywhere you go ) MOS school is good as long as you make the best of it. Then finally the Fleet....Then afghan. Just remember to stay safe and motivated and if you cant stay safe....STAY LOW, AND STAY AGGRESIVE!
