Misty, I can't say much about Rose Barracks hotels, but I was stationed in Germany for a few years. It does not take very long to get command sponsorship provided you are entered into DEERS as his spouse. It is a question of how quickly he can get a 4187 turned in. Usually the biggest problem here is that he needs to have a copy of your marriage certificate. Once the 4187 is turned in and approved, he can go to housing and get on the wait list for on-post housing, or have an option for off post housing. Once he is able to sign for the house/apartment, orders will be cut for you to join him. You will need a no-fee passport in order to get a Status of Forces Agreement stamp that will allow you to enter Germany as a dependent rather than just a tourist. It takes a good number of weeks to get the passport back once you apply for it, so the sooner you do so, the better. At the same time, apply for a tourist passport so that you can travel to some of the countries in eastern Europe which still require you to show passports to get in. Good luck, and have fun in Vilseck.
