Warrant Officer Flight Packet Process for NG Soldiers

I'm looking for information on the process and timetables I should expect starting with the boards. I've found plenty of info on what I need for the packet. I'll be deploying to Afganistan in Aug 2010, and would like to go to flight school soon after I get back. Can I go ahead and start the process? Or should I wait? I've checked all the pre-requisites, and I am a go in them. I'm 24, GT of 119, US citizen, AFAST of 96, passed a 1W physical in April 2009.

your flight physical is only good for 1 year. From what I have spoken to carreer counselors about this, it is difficult for NG or AR soldiers to get flight slots. Their suggestion is to convert to active duty. otherwise, your flight physical expires before you get selected for a school, and then your no longer eligiable for the school. Unproffesional oppinion.
