this site is starting to upset me. the more i look at it, i am seeing more and more people on this site claiming to have earned obvious awards that they know they did not earn. My opinion is that these peoplemust have self-esteem issues. Medal of Honor winners that are still alive and on active-duty. some in the Air force/Army. Can anybody help me with this or have i been in a cave for the last five years? The last time i checked there have been no living recipients of the MOH from the current war much less any on active-duty. I think you have to be pretty stupid to even display something like this on your signature. AS A WARNING TO YOU FAKERS OUT THERE... YOU BETTER CLEAN UP YOU FAKE DISPLAYS ON YOUR SIGNATURE BECAUSE THE FBI HAS BEEN NOTIFIED AND IS WATCHING. REMEMBER YOU CAN BE PROSECUTED FOR THE STOLEN VALOR ACT...FOR ANY AND EVERYTHING THAT YOU DID NOT EARN. THE FEDS ARE WATCHING

You are right brother. There hasn't been any M.O.H recipients from these last campaigns still alive.

You're correct Sergeant, there hasn't been a Medal of Honor awarded to a living recipient since Vietnam.

Here's a list of Living Recipients courtesy of the Congressional Medal of Honor Society:

You guys hit the point well and I feel the same way. I have seen a few of those FAKES and it makes me sick to stomach. Correct me if I am wrong gents but I believe the last MOH recipient was the navy seal who threw himself on a gernade in afghanstan. So, 1. these people have an issue or 2. they are walking around dead and I think number 2 is highly unlikely. To all the posers on this website: BEWARE, BECAUSE THE REAL MILTARY ON HERE, CAN AND WILL, SNIFF YOU OUT!!!!

I just realized that i had made a mistake on my own awards on here.
due to my slow @ss internet.
But i have corrected the mistake as soon as it was seen.
sorry for the incorrect award.
my apologies to the people who actually earned the OSR.

I take serious offense to the people who are lying about their awards. I am only a PFC, but I am proud of my service to my country. and personally if I find one of these people who are lying about thier awards, I will take pleasure in stomping you in. Respect the actual service members of the wars, previous and current. You dishonor the people who have actually worked for those awards. I don't have many myself, but I am not about to bring dishonor to the personel that have actually earned their medals and awards. if you want them, EARN them.
don't bring dishonor to everyone who has ever given the Ultimate Sacrifice for their country. If you Have the MOH on you rack, Take it off.
because if you don't, to me you have just spat in the face of heros, and that I will not tolerate.

Yea I have been in the process for months now on updating the core engine of this site... just life gets in the way. But I have been developing tools that will allow me to "fix" these issues. When I say "fix" I mean delete those profiles :) easily. Plus fixing numerous bugs adding in units...etc. I can barely keep up with the vietnam wall postings and picture additions. Im sure people are really mad since no bases have been added in months.... Time.... wish I had more.

We all hear you Dennis. Time is like peanut and jelly MRE's, its really hard to find alot of it and life doesnt want you to have any at all. I am just as busy now as I was when I was in. Every person has got to work for a living and I can tell you my pension only covers half of my bills. Ahh yes.....Time......it can be a red-headed stepchild.

To those that wish to embellish their awards rack, remember that the highest award that you can acquire is the one that says "Honorable Discharge." Do not jeopardize it.

Very true, Ortega, very true. "Honorable Discharge" is the only award that matters.

this is just a sad day when we have all these deployments going on and troops need to lie about what awards they have and isnt that a court martial offense

For those who are unaware, falsely claiming military awards is a FEDERAL crime, under the Stolen Valor act. That certainly includes claiming them in an Internet site dedicated to military personnel.

Some people are incredibly stupid regarding what medals they "award themselves." While there aren't many Medals of Honor claimed, it is amazing how many members have earned the DSC. Even more amazing is how many of these are E1 or E2, I know Basic Training is tough, but completing it does not qualify for a Distinguished Service Cross.

Also interesting are those who have Iraq medals, Vietnam medals AND WWII medals. Damn that's long service for those 80 year olds.

Another thing that annoys me is the number of people who have awarded themselves Unit Citations.

While they are certainly entitled to wear these ribbons on their uniforms, while serving with a qualified unit, I feel that the only people who should claim them are those who served in the units when the awards were earned.

(Proud to display a PUC and VUC, that were earned)

I am with you on that, MacDonald. I have seen alot of PUC's and VUC's, it makes me fume. Now dont get me wrong I love the Army and the military, I always say to the men and women over in iraq and afghanstan, i have been in your shoes, "make it home". There is one issue i have with the military today, though it actually been around since WWII, whenever a unit is awarded a PUC or a VUC and newbies or replacements come into the unit, they are awarded that citation as well. Yes, they are certainly entitled to wear it while serving with that unit but they shouldnt. I believe if you werent there during a firefight, ambush, recon, or whatever the citation was earned for, then take it off. If you werent there when it was earned, dont wear it and dont display it out of respect for the ones who did earn it. I earned mine, I bled for it. Had a nasty little gash across my forehead, lost over a pint of blood and required 15 stitches.

(proud to display my VUC, that was earned)

I don't mind people in units being allowed to wear that units prior awards. I builds a sense of unit loyalty and appreciation. Also, these awards would be lost to history, if current troops weren't wearing them.

After I came back from Vietnam (and before I knew that the 2/39th Inf had been awarded the PUC and VUC for the period I was there) i proudly wore the Unit Citations that had been earned by the 4/54th Inf. I even wore the Belgian (or French) Fourragere. While I had the right to wear them, I certainly NEVER thought of them as having been awarded to me. To claim them as mine would have been just stupid (and wrong.)

Now it is illegal.

It is VERY illegal. I have been looking at my DD214 to confirm all mine and make little tweaks on things I may have forgotten. I do agree that it builds unity and appreciation, would be lost to history but I guess it is the way soldiers of today think. I know when I earned mine in Afghanistan, my unit that I was attached with, 12/4th Inf ( my unit that I was attached to was 22/4th Inf and in an ID, the Army can do what they want with you) they were alittle funny when it came to the wearing of citations. Whenever they seen a newbie wearing a citation, this is what they thought: " I just went through hell to get that and here you are wearing it, without firing a bullet, not even in the country at the time." Thats how soldiers today are, if you didnt earn it then dont wear it. I guess I am middle of the road when it comes to wearing citations.
