so u can(1) try disconnecting the alternators plastic connector,(with the engine off), start, rev, see if the fuse blows.
(2) disconnect the wire that srews to the alternator(of course with the engine off), start, rve, see if fuse blows
(3) start engine, remove positive cable from engine(does engine die? if so replace alternator as it has a bad voltage regulater), engine still runs?, rev see if fuse blows.
(4) have a hand full of those fuses available, :)
i'll check back here once or so a day.
also since I done have a book for that car at my house and I'm a supervisor at a company other than auto shop now u should get a book, 20 bucks at any parts store, then u can post the circuit on a website for me to view so we can trace the circuit.
HOWEVER, a fuse blows because of too much current passing thru it, I.E a short. You need to look hard for a wire that is melted or frayed and is touching metal somewhere(grounding and causing enormous current to pass thru circuit). ALSO , thats actually the fuse for the alternator, so u need to check all the wires in the charge system when you get the book with wiring diagram. there could posibably be a lot of unwrapping to do if you don't see anything obvious by looking really good. BTW, a shop might only charge you 100 bucks and save you a lot of time and frustration. Being well versed in finding electrical issues I can tell thay don't all come easy, I have had customers cars for a month or two racking my brains even with the diagrams. I remember in the early days of learning I once unwrapped an entire wire harness on a ford e250, spent 6 days doing it looking at every wire on the damn truck inch by inch, then found a wire burnt sort of on top the bell housing that was just really hard to see.............so you need to check around the exhaust ans starter and sometimes the wires that are wrapped up along the back firewall really really good, reach and feel them all, unwrap, ans so forth, or have taken to a shop where theirs a tech who is already familiar with that system and he will probably find problem fairly quickly, save you headache.
