i have seen the traveling wall twice, once in waco, texas & once in springerville, az.. i would love to see the real thing in d.c. but doubt if i ever will.
if you have never seen the wall i highly recommend it and plan for a day. and bring a hanky.
David;
On visiting the Vietnam Memoril in D. C.; I have the same feelings as you about making a trip to see it. Because of my RVN Tour I Have a mountaineous case of CRS & CRAFT which has affected remembering from childhood to ocurrances of today. Many fellow Vets have highly recommended me visiting " The Memorial " because of it's many healing effects. Though my main reason for not wanting to visit is emotional & not knowing what my reactions would be with others around...I still plan a visit during the last quarter of 2012. David, if nothing else we owe it to OUR BROTHERS/SISTERS whose names are on " The Wall ", as well as ourselves.........GO BROTHER!!! Roger D. Stewart Vietvet1968@comcast.net
Fortunatly I live close enough; Boston, Ma, to have been there several times and never have walked away dry eyed. My Dad also a Vet of Pearl Harbor 12/07/1942, and several south Pacific campaigns is buried at Arlington Cemetery. If you don't do anything else make the trip, if you don't it will be one thing on the bucket list not done.
