First of all, congrats to President Obama for being the first black president ever. He has accomplished something no other man has ever accomplished in the United States and I give him a lot of credit for getting to the point where he is. I have no idea what to expect from him and I'm a bit worried if he will really be able to turn the United States back on the right path.
How does everyone feel now that Obama is going to be our president for the next 4 years? Do you believe he is going to bring in more jobs, boost the economy and get us back on a good path?

| | i dont think he has much experience, i wish he had more.....i don't know how his presidency will go, hopefully he can surprise me cause i really don't have high hopes for him at the moment.
| | I feel the same. I'm still unsure about him and don't completely trust him. I hope he can grow my trust and start proving himself as a good president. Time will tell.....
| | Congratulations, Pres. Obama! I look forward to serving under him!!!
| | He definitely was not my candidate, and I don't think he will help the country out. However, he is the duly elected President and I will respect him as such. I also would congratulate him on running an excellent campaign, something Senator McCain was unable to pull together. I hope I am wrong and he gets us through this financial crisis successfully.

| | I give Obama credit for his accomplishments, and for choosing a better VP canidate than McCain did!! However, I live in Ohio and we are #2 in the country for highest unemployment and Obama promised he would start on the states hurting the most first, so I will let you know!! LOL Call me crazy, but there is something about him that makes me nervous. I am not sure what it is and maybe its me being paranoid...... Besides that I am very happy for him and his family, and hope that we will see a change for the best in the next 4 years!!

| | Obama was not my candidate and McCain was not exactly a good runner either despite the fact that McCain was a hero as a former POW. They both carry crosses of unfavorable votes in the legislature. Grant it that President elect Obama has defeated all odds to become our next president, now comes the test of true grit and resilience as he will be tested to see how far his opponents can push him. Will Obama be fair and balanced or will he slide into extremism to push his agenda through the legislature. Will he be another Jimmy Carter or be strong and lead like Ronald Reagan. I just hope Obama will abide true to the US Constitution and Bill of Rights and lead the country, not indoctrinating by implacing activist judges in our justice systems. These are a few things I will be watching for.Don't forget that soldiers died in order to preserve and protect our freedoms and these principles held high for future generations to enjoy. If Obama doesn't deliver what he discussed during his campaigns,he's no better than President Bush........

| | Correction: President ELECT Obama. He hasn't been sworn in yet and the Presidency will not take effect until January = )

| | Same difference between calling someone "Airman Basic Johnson" and "Airman Johnson". Johnson may not have made E-2 yet, but I'm not going to split hairs every time I address him for the sake of semantics.

| | I guess Obama is OK in my book since he is a sox fan! :)

| | Haha glad you're won over...was he signing something for you??
| | I didn't bother with my absentee, but my buddy wrote in Reagan on the bottom of his ballot lol.

| | I'm a staunch conservative, an independent, but the operative word being 'conservative.' It's a wait and see thing for me right now, as long as he stays somewhere near the 'center' on things and remembers his 'conservative' type fellow Americans and not just the liberal left agendas. He ran on the idea of change, it can't be lop sided or it will further divide this nation. He says he's going to have representation from the other side of the isle in his cabinet. I hope he does continue to reach out to everyone the best he can, the Nancy Pelosi type constituency's do not represent main stream America imo. He will be up for re-election in 2012, if he has any 'hope' for a second term he better not go to far left, after reaching out towards the 'center' and getting so many of those votes, he'll never see a second term.
The BEST idea I've heard out of his mouth so far is in regards to college football, and the implementation of a play off system vs the BCS and how he might throw his weight around a little bit to influence that lol. I'm ALL for that!
Joking, it's certainly trivial as far as getting this nation back on track. But I saw he had a pretty cool side after making those remarks. :)

| | He wasn't signing something for me... I found that pic on the net.

| | Hey Kent I agree with you. That is my standpoint as well...
| | Great.. more chicken, watermelon, ebonic jokes...next four years. I wish Colin Powell was president. After the what Bush did to him. better yet Condelisa Rice,,would have been better..we have black and woman at the same time all knocked out at the same time. We need to get rid of affirmative action. We got a black president now.

| | Congratulations to him, even though he wasn't my choice. What I don't get is people making a big deal about him being black. He is just as much white as he is black. Race is another label that has been created so we can stick people into categories. We're all American. There are just as many black 1st sgt.s, lts, etc where I'm at as non-blacks, but no one makes a big deal about 'look at how far they made it, they really overcame adversity to get there!' So his skin is a different color, big deal. He's still human, he's still American. He bleeds the same as everyone else and puts his pants on one leg at a time. Skin color/race should have nothing to do with it.

| | I dont think It matters if obama has much experience he is exactly what america needs. America needs change and maybe obamas so called lack of experience will be good for america, because unlike other politicians and president obama doesnt seem to be the type that got in to the presidential race and became president so that he could fatten his wallet. i really think obama is humble and i think he really wants to help the americans (not just the americans with already fat wallets). I think he wants to help the average struggling american and bring our economy back where it was before bush.
