| | I am going to re-enlist after I graduate college and I've decided to go into the Air Force. I've been told that some of my army awards can't be worn in the Air Force. My awards are:
Combat Action Badge
Army Commendation Medal
National Defense Service
Iraq Campaign Medal w/ 2 Campaign Stars
Global War on Terror Service Medal
Army Service Ribbon
Overseas Service Ribbon
Army Superior Unit Award
any help would be greatly appreciated!

| | I am a 2w1x1 (462X0) Aircraft Armament Systems Specialist. It's a cool careerfield. You are part munitions and part aircraft maintenance. I've been doing it for nearly 24 years. As we like to say "Without weapons...were just another airline."

| | When I was active duty "Fire Protection" used to be 571X0. I guess it must have been changed.
Nice site and glad I joined. Thanks to all of you who serve past & present!

| | I was originally in 304x4,(Ground Radio Equipment Repair) but in 1977 my job was given it's own AFSC of 275x0 (Tactical Air Control). We didn't have any badges in the former but in the latter we had our beret, flash, and crest. Also, depending on where assigned, we wore the Combat Crew badge.

| | I'm unsure if anyone checks here anymore, as I just joined this site. Great site by the way. But I do have a suggestion along the lines of the AFSC's being added. This update is dealing with civilians. Being an Air Force civilian, we also have career fields, not necessarilly called an AFSC, but for instance, I am a 2210 (IT Specialist). I would also be nice if us retired and medically retired civilians could add our previous career fields to our profile.

|
| | Yea I still check, I just have zero time to do anything. I have been wanting to upgrade the site for years now... It is still on my list to do.
|
|
| | My AFSC is now 3D1X3 (RF Transmissions) with the Cyberspace Badge. I was formerly a 2E1X4 (VIIDS) but since the Comm Transformation, VIIDS (In Europe), SATCOMM, and Ground Radio have merged.
