well these jerks at the va are not worth spit ! plain and simple. I love being a soldier but being a vet doesnt mean sh*t to a bunch of civilians who havent even been around a track let alone served their country! im very disappointed in the system that has been set up to take care of our nations finest people only to make it harder for them to like civilians

I am not sure what your actual complaint is on the system Jennifer but I actually have quite the opposite opinion of the VA system. I am a disabled Vet I use the VA as my primary health care provider. I talk to the people that work there and find most of them are prior service. I was there today infact and the guy taking my blood was station at Hunter Army airfield while I was at Ft. Stewart they are both near Savannah. Of course I do not know where you go and I am sure the service is different depending on location. I am in Maine. Andrew unfortunately it is not free health care for all that served. Should be but its not. Unless you have a disability rating they feel you should be able to work and provide your own health care. They should let you use their facilities but will bill your insurance. If you have medical issues from being in the military then you should submit a claim and get a rating.

my Husband is a disable vet. He gets fair treatment. my Father is a Vietnam Vet. and has PTSD, it took 20 years for the VA to finally agree with his family that he had PTSD, he was also in areas of "AGENT ORANGE" and has severl other health issues, which they are just starting to decide to treat. My son is a vet from the current ongoing war... the VA has treated him like shit....... as for my husband he is getting 20% diability and his problems ahve gotten worse, he has been back to the VA and they contiue to refuse to even look at him to see if it is in thier opinon gotten worse, although his civillan MD and a specialist say that yes, the problems he is having is due tohis orginal injury.... So as for the VA I have mixed feelings. it all depends on the state you are living in (my dad is in Florida) we are in Illinois. Florida VA is much better, than the Illinois VA, it is not the same across the states. >>>>>

Your right Jennifer. I'm hurt too from an injury while on deployement and the VA has done nothing but jerk me around. It seems to me that the people I'm dealing with just want to put me through so much hassle that I will eventually give up with trying to get help. Just nag them constantly untill you get some kind of help or go over there heads untill you do get help. I love being a soldier too, but a soldier needs to be taken care of when there hurt. It seems pretty rediculous that the government will shell out millions every year in free healthcare to people who won't even try to work or are just lazy and milk "the system", but they can't help a sodier in need.
