TDY horror stories

I always hear people talking about how great this or that TDY (temporary duty) was, but I figured it was time to share some stories about awful TDY experiences. So, what was your worst TDY ever, and why?

I just began a three week TDY to Ft. Meade. When I landed in Baltimore, my luggage wasn't there waiting for me, then my rental car broke down, and now that I've finally arrived at my hotel, they lost my reservation and stuck me in a smoking room... Oh, and one of the computer accounts I need for the training isn't working as of yesterday, so I don't even know if I'm going to be able to attend the class I'm here for! I can't say if this is going to be my worst TDY ever, but it is definitely off to a rough start.

Well the worst TDY for me (and I'm sure for a few others was finance either "misplacing" the paperwork so we could collect our money...or worse them taking a pay check because because you got paid TDY and there was no paperwork stating that you went TDY (Of course everyone filled out the proper paperwork but somehow they always seemed to screw the pooch). But for the most part everything went well 90% of the time....

Gotta give it to you Dustin, sounds like Murphy is trying to attend your class with you. : )

Landstuhl Germany, I had to wait a week for a bus to Rhein Mein, Frankfurt back tp Baghdad, Iraq, OIF I. On the day I was supposed to Manifest. A Buddy of mine came in on a Medivac went into surgery and had 50 pins put in a crushed leg. I did what i could for him (went to the store) and then had to help explain to his wife and kids with the Ph.D that her husband was going to have to go through at least 4 months of Physical Therapy to walk again. Oh Yah i finally boarded a bus to Rhein Mein two days later. Had to wait 6 more days for a Space A flight back into Baghdad. When I got there No one from my unit was there to pick me up, and since then sent all my crap to me. I had to carry a rucksack and two A bags 5 miles across BIAP before some one offered me a ride. Needless to say, Some bad TDY.
