| | We have updated our ribbons to look more realistic and we have added "Devices" to all branches now. We have also complied the list of ribbons into one list to allow for people that were in multiple branches to select ribbons from two or more different military branches.
Let us know if you have any issues.

| | Dennis. There are a few items I noticed.
There is no longer an Army Presidential Unit Citation, OR Valorous Unit Citation. They were there before, but are gone now.
US Army Ribbon Rack builder is incorrect. It mixes Unit Citations with individual awards. Army Unit Citations are on a separate rack.
The Combat Infantry Badge is as important to many of us as any of our medals.
The rank insignia that you display is correct for current members of the Army. However there are a lot of us OLDTIMERS (Vietnam) who had a slightly different structure. Example - while I was a SGT when stationed at Fort Know in '69, my highest rank while in Vietnam was Spec5. This is the same pay grade as SGT, but is a different rank. Unlike SPec4, it was considered an NCO rank, but it was below SGT in the chain-of-command.

Can you explain this a little more and show me some examples so I can figure out a way to separate those out correctly.
Badges are on the list to add.
Ranks I knew I was going to have this issue, I just could not find enough information to show me the structure and images. Got any?

| | Sorry, I didn't see your reply earlier.
In the Army, you wear two separate racks. On the left side you wear all of your individual medals. On the right, you wear all of your unit citations See the wiki article on Gen Schwartzkopf (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:NormanSchwarzkopf.jpg
In addition to ALL the individual awards he has, he has a rack with three unit citations (one US army and two Vietnamese awards)
In the Navy/Marines these are mixed into one rack. I am not sure how the Air Force works.
I know that you had the Army Presidential Unit Citation (PUC) and the Valorous Unit Citation at one time, because I had them in my profile. They seem to have disappeared. The Army unit citations all have a frame around them. Check out http://armyawards.com/ for images.

|
| | Yea I know I am missing a few, I had to convert all of them to a new method in one list. I had to compile each branch and I missed a few doing it. I will get them added back. I will try and think about separating out the individual vs unit citations. In the Air Force everything was mixed into one rack and so as it stands the army is the only one that has two separate racks. Which is fine. I will find out which ribbons are separate and add a flag to those, then if your in the Army it will separate them out for u. Give me some time as I have other projects in work. I will also get those missing ribbons up as soon as I can.
Also do you think its a problem mixing them into one list when you build your ribbon rack on your signature? Or do you think they need to be separated out their too?

| | Regrading the old ranks, there was a separate and almost equal line of specialist ranks. Check out http://www.3ad.com/history/at.ease/army.ranks.htm for a look at this rank structure. The specialists were directly below their equivalent "hard stripe" rank, but equal in pay grade. Ex a Sgt (E5) was above a Spec5 in the command chain, but below a Spec6. There were a lot of Spec5's, and fewer of all the higher grades. HEre is an example of the graphic http://www.military-graphics.com/army_rank.html. Each higher grade got an extra rocker ABOVE. Here is an example of Spec6 http://i21.ebayimg.com/07/i/001/03/4b/28f4_1.JPG.

| |
| | There were a lot of Spec 5's, and a good number of Spec 6's. (they were usually in special assignments - cooks are the ones that I remember) I can only remember a few Spec 7's. It was hard to count all the rockers.
|
|
| | I think that it would be necessary to have the medals separate in the signature.
|
|
| | As an example of the difference in ranks, when I came back from Vietnam, I was a Spec5. I had been in charge of a 4.2 Mortar Fire Direction Control section. When I got back to the States at Fort Knox, there were no Sgt E5's in my unit, and I actually had to go before a promotion board, to get a lateral promotion to Sgt, so I could be put into a leadership slot.

|
| | OK I found them :)

| | Dennis - I was looking at the ARMY medals section. I think that this may be where some of the problem is. I =]f you look at the medals listed under the Army, you can see that most of them belong to the other services. Eg., there is mo Army commendation medal, and other unique Army medals are missing.

| | There is an Army commendation medal. I have all the medals under ONE list to allow for people that have served in multiple branches to be able to select those ribbons. As far as the Army Medal section is considered, I did try and separate them out by branch. Obviously most ribbons are available in all 5 branches. Then there is specific to branch ribbons. It wasn't an easy task and I know its not right, I just haven't been able to perfect it and I haven't found an accurate ribbon list. Seems every where I look people have order, ribbons, colors, and other things different from the next guy. I know some of my ribbons have inaccurate colors too. Right now I am trying to compile a list so when I readdress this section, I can make the ribbons even better and so on...
Thanks for your help!

| | Any chance of getting an Arctic "A" Device for the AF OS Short Tour Ribbon for those of us who were "Frozen Chosen" (aka stationed at Thule)?
