Well I just went to the career counselor yesterday and I chose Vilseck. I know, it's at Grafenwohr and it's a huge training facility for people about to deploy. But I wanted to go to either Germany or Hawaii. A lot of people ask why would you want to go to a place that deploys a lot. Well, you're gonna get deployed either way. Ha. Plus I've already been down range and I liked it. So........has anyone been stationed in Vilseck or near there? Thanks for the input.

Not really, but I grew up in Germany and just moved back after 7 years of living in england.
Good choice coming here!

Germany is great. Make sure you go to the Edleweiss resort near garmish, germany. Dont hang out in the barracks go downtown, safely and see as much of Germany as you can.

And go down south. Baden Wuerttemberg and Bavaria are the nicest places in germany!

I used to be stationed in England, but my group HQ was in Darmstadt (outside Frankfurt). We used to go to Graf pretty often. I actually attended PLDC at Graf. I can tell you that, from my experience, the weather sucks, but you will have some great training and travel opportunities. I definitely agree with SSG Matt Nelson, you need to check out Edelweiss (esp. if you are married or you're dating someone). You will also be pretty close to Prague, which might be the coolest town on Earth for a single guy! Make sure you get out and travel, Europe is amazing.
