"82nd Airborne All the Way", Hoooaaahhhh!!!
| | I would have to say that out of all Airborne, the MedCom on Bragg has it best. We jump and can save your life while doing it!
AIRBORNE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! HOOOOOOOOOOOAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
| | I agree, and thankyou for being there for us grunts..... AIRBORNE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
| | I recently got my Australian jump wings here at Fort Campbell. It was a great jump. We used the new(ish) SF-10 canopy and jumped out of a CASA 212 (civilian version of a C-41). It was one of the smoothest jumps I've had so far.

| | im a blackhawk crewcheif been stuck in korea as my first duty assignment what do i need to do to go airborne or airassult when i go stateside
| | Well, you have to get into top's ear and ask what you have to do to get in a slot. You would be better off going 82nd Airborne North Carolina or 25th Inf. Alaska.
Its all in how you get the info. If your coming home from Korea....where is your next duty station and are you close to an ETS so you can talk about schools as an advancement?
I mean you have loads of places you could go and accomplish what you want. As long as you put the Time in and Heart.
AirAssualt is a very good deal to, but it would be best to go to Campbell, KY and do it the right way.
I thought they had an AirAssualt training in Korea?
| | Dustin Y. how the H*ll did you get your Australian jump wings in Campbell. I guess that ones a knew one on me.
| | They only have a Jump Team at Campbell now. They're not on jump status anymore. Thats why their called 101st AirAssualt.
| | I'm assigned to 5th group (in a support role), not 101st. But there are still some units within the 101st that are on jump status. There were actually a few Pahfinders from division on the Aussie jump with us.
| | I know somebody in the 5th group. Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm?
| | StrikeHold!! 504th PIR 1997,,,and got sent to DISCOM "rock steady" and got CALifornia guard rigger unit...WTF! still jumping. Hooah!!!
| | Well, AIRBORNE, to you brother.... I would still jump, but been out to long and getting a bit creaky in the knees and back. I could probably still hang though. Hopefully not like a TOW jumper though...lol.
"Once Airborne, Always Airborne"
| | Does anyone here attend 82nd airborne conventions? Its a drunk fest and you see old friends. but there is the large amount of alchol..
| | AIR ASSAULT!!! to scared to jump, to lazy to hump
| | If you can hang a rope out off the side of a Blackhawk and Rapple....then you can jump out of a Plane.LOL
| | i know, i would of loved to gone to airborne school, i should of got it in my contract when i joined, but being young and stupid at the time, i lsiten to the recuiter, he told me since i'll be down in benning anyways i could just ask for all those high speed schools (airborne and ranger) and it would not be a problem, but when we got our orders for the 10th mountain, our drill sgt's we won't need airborne. we totally got screwed. only the guys with it in there contract got to go
| | You know, 10th Mountain is not a shotty unit. But, I understand that there are times that contracts are made, and have to be followed out. But, if you stay in you can always request it later...
