Survey for people with deployed spouses on 07/18/2008 12:17 pm
I recently joined the Army and am working on my dissertation to finish my degree.
If your spouse is currently deployed please consider participating in a study exploring the relationship between perceived levels of stress and coping strategies that are used. Your participation would be greatly appreciated and if you complete the study you will have the opportunity to be entered in a drawing for a $100 American Express gift card.
The study is estimated to take 15-30 minutes to complete.
In order to participate you must be at least 18 years-old, your spouse must be currently deployed, and you must be able to read and understand English.

Brittany,
My husband just got home from a year deployment. As anyone in a deployment situation knows it is very stressful and everyone deals with it in different ways. However, I feel the past month with him being home has been the hardest. We have both changed so much and are set in our own ways that we have adapted to in the past year. Is there or have you considered taking a survey exploring the relationship between perceived levels of stress and coping strategies used once the soldiers are home as well? I know this may not be as important, however I think it gets more frustrating at times because he doesn't know how to deal with his past 2 deployments and I can't understand everything he went through. I just feel it would be interesting to see the during and after the deployment and see if the surveys can help not only the deployed soldiers but the ones that can't cope after as well.
