Hey, I was in the area a couple of times back in the 90's.

Remember to drink plenty of water. It's hot.

HI

My brother, father are over there. My husband returned in December. It is hot so DRINK lots of water. There have a lot of people getting upset stomachs due to the food. There is not alot to do over there so be sure to have people send you things. The culture is different so watch what you say and do to the people over there. MOST OF ALL BE SAFE, RETURN HOME HOME IN ONE PIECE, AND THANKS FOR BEING OVER THERE. GOD BLESS

IF YOU HAVE NO FAMILY TO SEND THINGS LET ME KNOW. MY FAMILY SENDS CARE PACKAGES TO OTHERS BESIDES OUR FAMILY.

Hey Bud I have Been over there 3 times as a Seabee and i will tell you that you can expect to have a higher stressed work environment because of operational commitment and mission ops. But being Navy we dont see to much combat at least not direct combat. You can expect to see indirect fire (mortars/R.P.G's) it all depends on Mission and time. Just keep your head out of your rear and both feet firmly on the Deck and you will be fine. One good thing is you will receive advancement points if you are there more than 180 days. The bad thing is its extremely hot. If you can stay flexible and ready at all times. Remember bro no one is a better lookout than you and DRINK WATER!!!!! GOOD LUCK AND GODS SPEED
