My husband is thinking about putting in a package for MSG Duty and I was just wondering if there was anyone out there that has done a tour? What was it like?? Did you enjoy it??

I haven't done it myself, but I just recently went through a training school where I met Sgt. Min who has done MSG and he said it was probably one of the best times he's ever had while in the Marine Corps, I'm even thinking about applying for it when I meet all the standards.

I didn't do it, but he'll have to meet certain security requirements. He'll basically need a good driving record, good credit, and no police involvement. When I worked at HMX-1 we had a guy that met all the security requirements to work on the President's helicopters because he was on MSG. Also, if his rank is lower than E-6 for over one year, you won't be going with him.

Yeah...I know that he has to be a SSgt. for me to go, which he is. I know all the details of goingon MSG duty. My dad is retired and we were stationed in Jamaica for 3 years. I was just wanting to see if there were any people on here that were actual Dept. Commanders. My hubby is clean in all areas that they are going to be checking so I am not worried about the security clearance and background checks tha they will have to do for him to be accepted into the school. Thanks for the input though.
