Undesirable discharge vietnam

My bro was door gunner. He served and received medals for his action, came home and freaked out. He got a bad discharge and has spent the last 30 years suffering. HIs teeth are gone and he has growths on his face. And is homeless. Can he get his discharge upgraded? He walked where most feared, he did what was asked of him without question! Is there any hope for him?>
